Bolivian Rams
The Bolivian Ram Cichlid is a peaceful South American dwarf cichlid known for its gentle temperament, attractive natural coloration, and interesting personality. With soft gold, olive, silver, orange, and red tones, Bolivian Rams make a beautiful addition to planted freshwater community aquariums.
Compared with many other cichlids, Bolivian Rams are relatively calm and can be kept with peaceful community fish such as tetras, rasboras, Corydoras, smaller plecos, and other non-aggressive species. They are especially appealing to aquarists looking for a colorful cichlid that does not require an aggressive setup.
Bolivian Rams do best in a well-established aquarium with warm, clean water, gentle filtration, and plenty of hiding areas. Sand or fine gravel is ideal because they naturally sift through the substrate while searching for food. Driftwood, rocks, caves, and live plants help create a comfortable environment.
